Fishbowl Solutions announces linkSecurity™ to implement similar folder level access control from Pro/INTRALINK^® 3.4 in Windchill Pro/INTRALINK^® 9.X and PDMLink^® .

Minneapolis—June 30, 2010—Fishbowl Solutions, Inc., a software, services and consulting company delivering solutions for the PTC^® Product Development System (PDS), has released linkSecurity, an out-of-the-box solution for PTC Windchill PDMLink^® and Pro/INTRALINK^®.

Maintaining the security of design information and similar intellectual property is one of the highest priorities for most firms these days. The sensitivity for IP protection has only increased as companies continue to outsource work and employ contract workers.  Most companies want to insure that only individuals with the appropriate security credentials are provided access to the information that they need for any given project.

In Pro/INTRALINK 3.4 administrators are able to easily restrict or grant access at the folder level. Although it is possible to create and assign access control domains to folders in Windchill Pro/INTRALINK 9.X and PDMLink, it requires several dozen steps in four separate user interfaces to add Access Control to a single folder.  This process is time consuming and very challenging to maintain over time.

linkSecurity addresses this manual creation of folder level access control by allowing the Windchill administrators to run an automated script whenever needed to re-configure the access control domains automatically.
