"Election as a Fellow in the American Welding Society is based on an individual's outstanding accomplishments and his or her technical impact upon the industry, and Paul's innovative contributions in the areas of advanced welding technology have helped change the industry," said Edward J. "His work with the development and certification of advanced high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) steels, and advanced welding processes for the fabrication of U.S. Naval combatant ships has helped both CTC and our clients, as well as the shipbuilding industry. According to the American Welding Society, Konkol's formal induction into the 2010 Class of Fellows will take place November 1 during their annual business meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.
Konkol has been with CTC since 1994. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in metallurgical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
