August 26, 2010 -- Huntsville, AL - The, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Geodetic Survey (NGS), has awarded GeoCue Corporation a contract to develop a geospatial process management system that will become an integral component to support, organize and manage NGS Remote Sensing Division (RSD) programs that ensure the safety and efficiency of U.S. private and commercial navigation, both in the air and on the seas. The addition of the geospatial process management system for NGS/RSD digital camera workflows will provide significant productivity gains. Additionally, the system will allow NGS/RSD to bridge the LIDAR and digital camera workflows into one over-arching management and project tracking system.
The NGS deployed a GeoCue® LIDAR workflow management system in 2008 that is used in shoreline mapping projects. NGS is now extending the GeoCue management system to encompass digital camera management and orthophoto processing. The two systems will use GeoCue’s Federator technology for enterprise integration of the two work clusters.
GeoCue’s implementation will provide the NGS with distributed processing technology to improve system throughput. Management technology such as GeoCue Dashboard and Project Portal will provide NGS management with synoptic viewing of the status of multiple projects. GeoCue is extremely pleased to be selected as an enterprise production management solution for NGS mission critical systems.
