Optech and DiMAC announce the release of next-generation camera controllers

Toronto, Canada, October 4, 2010 – Optech Incorporated, the world’s leading manufacturer of advanced lidar and imaging survey instruments, announced today a tighter technical integration with the DiMAC ULTRALiGHT+ product line. New packaging, specifically conceived for lidar mapping solutions, takes advantage of recent technology advances for a more robust and flexible design.

The DiMAC ULTRALiGHT+ is a high-resolution mapping camera with fully-embedded Forward Motion Compensation (FMC) technology for an exceptional data product. The new camera controller increases data reliability with solid state data storage capability and robust system status monitoring. Built into a standard 19” rack, the new camera controller is also a direct fit with Optech’s ALTM Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper products.

"Our clients look to Optech to provide a variety of active and passive imaging products for their application requirements," said Michael Sitar, Optech’s Airborne Survey Products Manager. “Our recent acquisition of DiMAC enables us to offer more robust, integrated and fully-supported imaging solutions that would not otherwise be possible from independent vendors alone. The new DiMAC camera controller is a large step toward that solution.”
