IES Launches Global VE-Gaia Contest

Software company will select one recipient to receive its green building analysis software free for one year, with associated training

Boston – October 20, 2010 – Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a provider of integrated performance analysis software for sustainable building design, today announced that it will host a contest to provide one architect or engineer with free IES VE-Gaia software for a year, plus associated training sessions with an IES consultant, for up to two people.

The grand prize, valued at $1,840 / £1,200, will provide the winner with a one-year stand-alone license for VE-Gaia, the company’s revolutionary architectural green building analysis tool. VE-Gaia’s complete analysis, iteration and reporting environment is driven by “step-by-step” smart guidance that opens wide the power of IES analysis. A series of workflows take users through a range of tasks; from advanced modeling, to energy/carbon analysis, bio-climatic interrogation and report creation. A three-part training course for two people, with a certified IES consultant, will also be awarded to the winner.

“To be truly sustainable, a building needs to last in excess of 100 years. It is our hope that this contest will promote awareness and the adoption of sustainability tools from the earliest stages of the design process, bringing smart, eco-friendly decisions to the forefront of design, when the most impact can be made,” said Don McLean, Founder and Managing Director of IES.

To enter, visit the IES website ( www.iesve.com/NewsEventsUK/Competition) before Friday, November 12. You can follow the contest and gain additional information by connecting with IES on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and the IES Blog. The winning company will be selected based on feedback from IES’ executives and a team of qualified advisors.

The lucky winner will be announced live on Thursday, November 18 at the IES booth #516 at Greenbuild 2010 in Chicago.
