VYCON Extends Collaboration With Eaton Corporation for Distribution and Service of VYCON's Clean, Environmentally Friendly Flywheel Energy Storage Systems

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Mar 21, 2011 -- VYCON ( www.vyconenergy.com), a designer and manufacturer of environmentally friendly, high-speed energy storage flywheel systems, is pleased to announce the continuance of its collaboration with Eaton Corporation to distribute VYCON'S clean energy VDC and VDC-XE flywheel power systems.

Under the extended agreement, Eaton will continue to sell and service VYCON's innovative and highly efficient VDC (Voltage Direct Connect) flywheel systems as an alternative or complement to their industry-leading three-phase uninterruptible power systems (UPSs). VYCON's VDC models, which are certified to use with the Eaton 9390, 9395 and 9315 UPSs, provide Eaton customers a battery-free, "green" alternative by providing sufficient ride-through for short duration power outages and/or bridging time until a standby engine-generator can come online.

"Our collaboration with Eaton has been very successful and we look forward to continuing our relationship and providing unsurpassed clean energy storage solutions for their customers," said Frank DeLattre, president of VYCON.

"We are very excited to continue our relationship with VYCON and offering their patented flywheel energy storage system as an alternative or as an enhancement to traditional battery-based energy storage," stated Pedro Robredo, Eaton's product line manager for three-phase UPS products. "Providing 'greener' back-up power solutions to our data center customers is a priority and offering a battery-free, lead-free alternative will continue to enhance our position."

Over the past year, VYCON has received various industry accolades, product awards and was named to Inc. magazine's 500 List of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2010. In addition, the company's product performance and reliability has garnered multiple unit wins and several repeat orders from existing customers. Flywheel energy storage has become an important strategic solution for customers' mission-critical applications that require reliable power while reducing their carbon footprint.
