ASCENT- Center for Technical Knowledge® Releases Five Training Guides for Autodesk® 2012 Software

All ASCENT 2012 training guides to carry the “Autodesk Official Training Guide” designation

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 24, 2011 — Rand Worldwide®, a global leader in providing technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and information technology requirements, announced that its courseware division, ASCENT- Center for Technical Knowledge, released five training guides for Autodesk 2012 software:

As in previous courseware releases, ASCENT once again has released a training guide that focuses solely on the enhancements between AutoCAD 2011 and AutoCAD 2012. The topics in AutoCAD 2012 Update for AutoCAD 2011 Users range from general improvements and command enhancements to new 3D modeling techniques and a customization workflow.

The AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2012 Fundamentals training guide provides new AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT users with the skills required to successfully create 2D drawings. The guide helps users understand the workspace and interface, as well as teaches users how to use basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools, and how to add text, hatching and dimensions to a file. In addition, more advanced techniques are covered to further refine a user’s skill sets.

The AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2012 Essentials training guide is a sub-set of the AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2012 Fundamentals training guide. To provide flexibility for instructors and students, the AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2012 Fundamentals courseware is divided into two parts that can be taken independently; this training guide is the first of the two guides and enables users to create a basic 2D drawing in AutoCAD.

The Autodesk Inventor 2012 Introduction to Solid Modeling training guide instructs users in best usage approaches for parametric design philosophy through a hands-on, practice-intensive curriculum. This guide is one of four Inventor training guides written to cover topics required in the Autodesk Inventor certification examinations.

Autodesk Inventor 2012 Advanced Part Modeling is the second in a series of courses on Inventor from ASCENT. The goal of this training guide is to build on the skills acquired in the Inventor Introduction to Solid Modeling course by taking students to a higher level of productivity when designing part models in Inventor.

“At ASCENT, we understand that our clients require professional, high-quality training materials in a timely manner, and therefore I’m pleased to have these 5 titles available for purchase to coincide with the software release,” remarked Paul Burden, Director of Product Development, ASCENT. “Our goal is for users to have access to quality, Autodesk Official Training Guides as quickly as possible following the release of the software.”

ASCENT is an Authorized Author, Publisher and Developer of Autodesk curriculum. All of ASCENT’s Autodesk 2012 courseware titles will carry the Autodesk Official Training Guide designation, and in addition, ASCENT’s Inventor courseware is Autodesk Inventor certified. All of the company’s training guides are available to educational institutions, individuals, and corporations and can be purchased directly from the online store: www.ASCENTeStore.com.

ASCENT will be releasing a full range of titles updated for 2012 in the coming months. To see the company’s complete courseware lineup, please visit www.ASCENTed.com.
