Subsea 7 Adds New Schilling Robotics ROV Systems to Fleet

DAVIS, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 18, 2011 — Schilling Robotics, LLC, experts in subsea systems, announced today the award of new contracts for ROV systems from Subsea 7. A total of three (3) new ROV systems will be supplied for delivery in Q2 2011, including one (1) 150hp, 3,000m rated ACV ROV system and two (2) 150hp, 3,000m rated HD™ ROV systems.

The ACV ROV system is an addition to Subsea 7’s existing fleet of construction vehicles and will be mobilized on Subsea 7’s new pipelay/heavy lift vessel, the Seven Borealis. Incorporating advanced power sharing technology, the ACV is capable of performing the most demanding subsea construction tasks and has a comprehensive track record for delivering both performance and reliability.

The HD™ ROV system is a work-class vehicle which provides flexibility for construction and inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) applications. The HD’s™ integrated system design leverages modular sub-systems for ease of maintenance, and provides the most on-board space available in a mid-size vehicle for integrating specialized intervention tooling. Subsea 7 will mobilize the HD systems to support ROV-based IMR work in the Norwegian Sea and North Sea.

“We are very pleased that Subsea 7 has selected Schilling and our ROV systems to support their offshore operations. The continued relationship with Subsea 7 is testament to the flexibility and durability of Schilling systems,” states Tyler Schilling, chief executive officer for Schilling Robotics.
