ALBANY, N.Y. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 6, 2011 — SEMATECH ( www.sematech.org), the global consortium of semiconductor manufacturers, today announced the appointment of Richard Young as Vice President of Manufacturing. In this role, Young will oversee strategic development and operations for SEMATECH’s manufacturing-related programs in Albany.

Young brings more than 15 years of industry experience in manufacturing, and joins SEMATECH from Kovio, a venture-backed printed semiconductor IDM, where he was Vice President of Operations. He previously held senior management and engineering positions at Spansion, AMD, Industrial Design Corporation, and Shimizu America Corporation, a subsidiary of Japan’s largest design and build general contractor.

Young holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
