DALLAS, TX/SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 17, 2011) – AIA Dallas and aecKnowledge announce a new partnership to provide online continuing education courses for credits by AIA and other professional organizations. The first of these online courses—a six-part series on Leadership Effectiveness featuring Peter A. De Lisle PhD, Professor of Leadership Studies, Austin College, and consultant to AIA Dallas—offer firm managers and emerging professionals in the AEC industry a convenient and affordable online platform to develop advanced leadership skills while earning AIA Learning Units.
The high-quality, video courses offer distilled, engaging and practical content that is available 24/7 and presented by one of the nation’s top thought leaders. “We wanted to replicate the quality and value of an in-person course in a sophisticated, easy-to-use online environment for those who can’t attend our events,” says Paul Pascarelli, Commissioner of Education, AIA Dallas. “The Emerging Leaders program has been so successful that we want to share the message with design professionals everywhere. And Pete DeLisle is a master on this subject and one of our most popular instructors.” says Pascarelli.
Based on AIA Dallas’s award winning and highly successful Emerging Leaders series, the courses offer valuable and practical insights into leadership behaviors, interpersonal skills and problem solving techniques that can be immediately applied to one’s own practice, regardless of the viewer’s level of experience. Each course is approved for 1 AIA CES learning unit and is peer-reviewed to deliver concise, relevant and unbiased knowledge. The courses can be purchased individually or at a discount for the series with additional discounts given to AIA members. “The courses build upon one another to create a comprehensive curriculum for principals, project leaders and emerging professionals. It’s truly innovative material that is not otherwise available to most design professionals.” stated Sheila Kleinpeter, AIA, Co-Chair, Emerging Leaders Committee.
