Grenoble, France – CIME Nanotech, a public academic French center for microelectronics and nanotechnologies which supports the research and teaching activities of the Grenoble universities, announced today that it has selected InfiniScale, an EDA company specialized in variability aware design solutions, especially for advanced technological nodes. After several months of evaluation, CIME Nanotech and his research partners have selected InfiniScale’s Lysis for its variability aware design needs. CIME Nanotech will provide Lysis to the research laboratories and to the master students in micro- and nanoelectronics. The CIME Nanotech students will have the opportunity to apply Infiniscale’s unique approach to variability aware design. Lysis will also be available through the CimAlpes cluster to the companies of the Grenoble area.
Based on the results given by the testbench simulations with the customer’s SPICE simulator, Lysis is able to automatically extract a mathematical model that accurately fits the behavior of the device. This model can then be used for various design activities, such as sensitivity analysis, fast Monte-Carlo, performance and yield optimization. Thanks to this automated modeling approach, the design engineers can focus on the design optimization rather than running highly complex simulations in order to manually verify and size the device. This automated approach for compact modeling and optimization of analog, mixed-signal and RF devices can save months on the design cycle.
“InfiniScale is very pleased to engage with CIME Nanotech for both their R&D and teaching activities. Their expertise on advanced designs and technologies will help us by giving us useful information and feedback about Lysis. CIME Nanotech is a stable, long-term key partner for us. It is also a unique opportunity for Infiniscale to have its approach and methodology promoted to students during their courses.” commented Vincent Fischer, Product Director at Infiniscale.
“InfiniScale Lysis is a very powerful tool which helps the researchers to innovate in IC design with the most recent nanotechnologies. It is very useful for advanced students and for researchers in IC design.” commented Laurent Fesquet, Deputy Director of the CIME Nanotech.
About CIME
CIME Nanotech – an academic center jointly operated by the Grenoble Institute of Technology and the Joseph Fourier University – is part of a French network of 12 centers dedicated to microelectronics and nanotechnologies. To answer to the needs of education and research, the CIME Nanotech holds various platforms dedicated to micro- and nanoelectronics, biotechnologies, RF and guided optics, embedded applications, MEMS and sensors.
