Call for Entries Open for 2014 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Honoring Best in CE Innovation

CEA Accepting Submissions Through September 13

ARLINGTON, Va. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 12, 2013 — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced that entries for the 2014 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards will be accepted now through Sept. 13, 2013. The 2014 Best of Innovations Honorees will be announced Nov. 12, 2013, at the CES Unveiled NEW YORK press conference and showcased at the 2014 International CES®. Owned and produced by CEA, the 2014 CES is the world’s leading innovation event, and is scheduled for Jan. 7-10, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The annual competition honors outstanding design and engineering across 29 consumer electronics categories. Three new product categories have been added to the 2014 awards program:

3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing: This category includes 3D printers, accessories, software, platforms, and any electronic device that facilitates the use of additive manufacturing.

In-Vehicle Experience: Entries include entire motor vehicles in which the cabin experience is enhanced through the innovative use of electronic components.

Wearable Technologies: This category will feature electronic devices typically worn by consumers that use sensors for navigation, information-gathering, communicating information, or other sensory enhancements.

Media and analysts will have an opportunity to see this year’s Best of Innovations Honorees in person during CES Unveiled LAS VEGAS: The Official Media Event of CES, featuring dozens of tabletop product demonstrations and industry networking. CES Unveiled LAS VEGAS is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Sunday, January 5, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Credentialed media and analysts are invited to attend this exclusive event.

The 2014 Innovations Awards program is open to all companies, regardless of CES exhibitor status. Products entered must debut for sale in U.S. retail outlets or on the Internet between April 1, 2013, and April 1, 2014. Submit your product here.
