BOXX XTREME and GPU Edition Workstations Demo at GPU Technology Conference

AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- Mar 25, 2014 -- BOXX Technologies, the leading innovator of high-performance computer workstations and rendering systems, today announced that its 3DBOXX 4170 XTREME workstation, featuring two NVIDIA Quadro® K5000 graphics cards, will power VSG Avizo® and Autodesk® Revit® demonstrations hosted by Scalable Display Technologies in their booth at the 2014 GPU Technology Conference (GTC), March 24-27, in San Jose, Calif. BOXX also announced that their workstations, including multi-GPU editions, will be in use by industry experts during sessions throughout the conference.

"The fact that leading GTC presenters rely on our systems is a clear indication that BOXX innovation enables professionals to work faster and more efficiently across a variety of industries," said Shoaib Mohammad, BOXX VP of Marketing and Business Development.

The Scalable Display Technologies' Avizo and Revit demos will employ a single 3DBOXX 4170 XTREME, along with two Sony GT-100 4K commercial-grade projectors, to deliver a state of the art, 15-megapixel, edge-blended display. The liquid-cooled XTREME includes a safely overclocked, fourth generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor running at 4.3GHz and Thunderbolt 2 for easy connectivity to high performance peripherals. At PNY booth #731, Autodesk® 3ds Max® and NVIDIA iray® will be demonstrated on the compact, liquid-cooled, 3DBOXX 4150 XTREME featuring a safely overclocked Intel Core i7 (4.3 GHz) and NVIDIA Quadro K6000 GPU.

On Tuesday, Chaos Group presents "Creating CONSTRUCT: How NVIDIA GPUs are Defining a New Filmmaking Paradigm," hosted by independent filmmaker and VFX/CG Supervisor at Blur Studio, Kevin Margo. Relying on a liquid-cooled, overclocked, 3DBOXX 4920 GPU Edition workstation with four NVIDIA Quadro K6000 graphics cards, Margo will describe how he is using Chaos Group's V-Ray RT Renderer in his upcoming CG-animated short film "CONSTRUCT," with final-production frames rendered entirely on NVIDIA GPUs. Tuesday sessions also include BOXX founder and VP of Operations/Engineering Tim Lawrence hosting "Getting Maximum Performance in CATIA Live Rendering," a presentation focusing on the best practices for rendering in Dassault Systèmes CATIA.

On Wednesday, 3DBOXX 8950, the workstation optimized for advanced multi-card configurations, will power "Advanced HMI Design Workflow at PSA Peugeot Citroen" featuring Alain Gonzalez (Expert Workstations Graphics Technologies & 3D Imagery) and Benoit Deschamps (Imaging Solutions Team Leader) of PSA Peugeot Citroën. Using a liquid-cooled 8950 with dual Intel® Xeon® processors (24 cores) and four NVIDIA Quadro K6000 graphics cards, the duo will explain the tools, workflows, and hardware necessary to design, evaluate and simulate HMI embedded in new car models. The simulations will be demonstrated into a real-time rendering software with a physical-based rendering for HMI -- a PSA Peugeot Citroën development. The session will also focus on HMI, grid computing, GPU computing, and more.

"At BOXX, we provide customers with the optimal solution for their specific workflow," said Mohammad. "Our integration of multiple GPUs allows users of Autodesk, Dassault, NVIDIA Iray, V-Ray, and other applications to work more efficiently by designing and rendering simultaneously."
