FRIEDBERG, Germany — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 9, 2014 — voxeljet AG (NYSE: VJET), a leading provider of high-speed, large-format 3D printers and on-demand parts services to industrial and commercial customers, today announced that it has appointed David Tait as general manager of its U.S. industrial 3D printing service center, located in Canton, MI. In his role as voxeljet’s U.S. general manager, Tait will have overall responsibility for building out voxeljet’s U.S. team, as well as sales and marketing of the company’s 3D printers and services business in the U.S. and Canada.

Mr. Tait will oversee voxeljet’s U.S. service center, which is expected to come online during the third quarter. The service center will allow voxeljet to print on-demand parts, molds, cores and models for automotive and other industrial customers based on designs produced using 3D computer-aided design software.

Tait brings extensive additive manufacturing experience to voxeljet. Prior to joining voxeljet, Tait served as president of Radian Precision Inc., where he specialized in machining of titanium, high nickel alloys and specialty metals for the defense, aerospace and automotive industries. Earlier in his career, Tait founded Laserform, a rapid prototyping company that pioneered the use of stereolithography (solid-free form fabrication, 3D printing) technology. As president of Laserform, he established a leading position in rapid prototyping for the automotive weatherstrip sealing industry and air flow prototypes used in aerospace and automotive applications.

“We are pleased to have David joining us at voxeljet. His hiring marks an important milestone for the company in establishing our presence in the U.S.,” said Dr. Ingo Ederer, voxeljet’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our U.S. service center will allow us to serve the growing 3D printing needs of the auto industry, as well as other industrial manufacturers in the United States. David’s experience is highly relevant and will play a key role in the success of our sales and marketing efforts in the U.S. We welcome him to the voxeljet team.”

voxeljet will be participating in the RAPID Conference at the Cobo Center in Detroit, MI, taking place June 9-12 (booth 1510). RAPID is the industry-leading forum for discussion of the latest developments, trends and techniques specific to additive manufacturing, rapid technologies, 3D printing and 3D scanning.
