ITL Selects Intergraph® CADWorx® Plant Professional

Hydrocarbons engineering company makes the switch to leading plant design software

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 13, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  Leading New Zealand hydrocarbons engineering company ITL has selected Intergraph® CADWorx® Plant Professional plant design software to deliver all new projects going forward.

ITL made the switch to CADWorx Plant Professional from a competitor product after evaluating a range of plant design software packages against criteria that included cost-effectiveness, features and usability.

"After an extensive evaluation exercise, one of the main deciding factors for us was that Intergraph has made considerable investments to advance CADWorx over the past few years, rather than just maintain it," said Garnett Henderson, ITL's design office manager. "We haven't seen that with many other vendors.

"We also like the admin setup for CADWorx Plant Professional," Henderson added. "The majority of our jobs are relatively small, and CADWorx does not assume you want to link every document in a project together out of the box. You can get up and running quickly on small projects, and choose to add the integration of the project database's as you require."

As ITL was already using Intergraph ISOGEN®, the industry's most widely used software for isometrics generation, and PV Elite®, an Intergraph product used for vessel and exchanger design and analysis, CADWorx Plant Professional's compatibility with these two solutions was also a major factor in the decision.

Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said, "We are pleased to welcome ITL to Intergraph and look forward to working with them to deliver critical projects to New Zealand's hydrocarbon, petrochemical and marine industries."

Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions products allow design and engineering to share relevant information seamlessly, thereby maintaining accuracy and improving efficiency. These include CADWorx Plant Design Suite, for AutoCAD®-based intelligent plant design modeling, process schematics and automatic production of plant design deliverables; CADWorx DraftPro®, for intelligent 2D design and layout; CAESAR II®, the world's most widely used pipe stress analysis software; PV Elite®, for vessel and exchanger design and analysis; TANK, for the design and analysis of oil storage tanks; and GT STRUDL®, one of the most trusted, adaptable and fully-integrated structural analysis solutions in the world.
