Geomerics Unleashes Stunning Lighting Effects in Street Fighter V

Feb 17, 2016 -- Today, Capcom is releasing the next game in its legendary Street Fighter franchise: Street Fighter V. I wanted to let you know that Geomerics' lighting technology, Enlighten, was used on the game to bring the characters and stages to life. As you know, Geomerics specializes in helping game developers create indirect light, or the natural way light bounces off surfaces in a scene. In the case of Street Fighter V, Enlighten was instrumental in helping Capcom achieve the iconic look of the characters and scenes.

In case you can't access the blog post, here's the copy:

The reset button has been hit and Capcom?s legendary fighting franchise is back with Street Fighter V! Supported by Enlighten, the game industry?s real-time global illumination solution, this latest installment is poised to rebuild the greatest head-to-head fighting game ever created with stunning new graphics and exciting new battle mechanics.

Enlighten?s advanced spherical harmonic probe technology, the element responsible for shading objects that move at runtime, empowered Capcom to achieve stunning indirect lighting for its highly dynamic characters.

In addition, the flexibility offered by Enlighten?s range of controls supported the art team in achieving the unique and iconic style of the Street Fighter franchise.

"We couldn?t have brought the characters and stages to life like we did in Street Fighter V without the help from the team at Geomerics and their Enlighten technology," said Bochan Kim, Producer of Street Fighter V at Capcom U.S.A., Inc

Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever.
