ARTIST QUOTES

"One of the aspects of Santa Fe which people - residents and tourists alike - most enjoy is the art. The Santa Fe Studio Tour provides an opportunity for folks to meet with the artists, learn about

"Seeing a painting in the space in which it was created is a very different experience from seeing that same piece in a gallery. An artist's studio is an intimate space, containing inspirational elements, traces of the evolution of the work, and insights into the creative process. During the tour, I receive a wide range of visitors to my studio, from foreign tourists to neighbors on my street. The leisurely pace provided by two full weekends allows for discussions, demonstrations and real connections."  -- Bette Yozell, watercolor artist

"This will be my 4th year with the Santa Fe Studio Tour. I enjoy meeting all the people who come to see my demonstrations on encaustics, an ancient art technique that I apply over my American Indian photographs. Quite a few visitors become so intrigued by this art process that they sign up for one of my workshops." -- Angel Wynn, photographer and encaustic artist.
