The newest division of CCA and B debuts first animated special during this holiday season on network television
ATLANTA, Nov. 14, 2018 — (PRNewswire) — Along with baking cookies, trimming the Christmas tree and welcoming Scout Elves back home during Scout Elf Return Week™, gathering together to watch holiday programming is an age-old family tradition. Creatively Classic Activities and Books (CCA and B, LLC), home of the best-selling Christmas tradition The Elf on the Shelf®, is proud to announce the formation of Scout Elf Productions™, a new subsidiary dedicated to producing entertainment-based content for both the large and small screen.Scout Elf Productions™ inaugural animated film Elf Pets: Santa's St. Bernards Save Christmas gives families a glimpse at the magic of Santa's North Pole and the fun their Scout Elves and friends have during the holiday season. With messages of kindness, generosity, faith, hope and love, this story and the forthcoming ones are sure to become treasured parts of families' Christmas viewing traditions.
Co-CEO and Co-founder of CCA and B, LLC Chanda Bell spearheaded the creative production of Elf Pets: Santa's St. Bernards Save Christmas, gathering inspiration from her own family Christmas memories and historical research. An old news article about a historic Saint Bernard rescue dog named Barry and a subsequent research trip to Switzerland influenced the previous storybook Elf Pets: A St. Bernard Tradition. As the writer/director of the newest animated tale, Bell revisits these fuzzy-faced characters – the Saint Bernards – to weave a modern-day fairy tale for Santa Claus to reveal how Elf Pets® pups, Scout Elves and a big-hearted family can make the world a better place. In fact, all of them will have to work together to restore Christmas Spirit when Santa discovers there's not enough of it for him to make Christmas magical.
"Our expansion with Scout Elf Productions™ represents yet another way that we can deliver Christmas magic to kids and bring families together," said Chanda Bell, executive producer of Scout Elf Productions™. "By tapping into children's imaginations, this special unveils how their generosity and acts of kindness can help others as well as Santa Claus. We knew animation was the right approach to tell these stories in a way that was fun, family-friendly and, hopefully, would make Santa Claus proud."
Elf Pets: Santa's St. Bernards Save Christmas will debut stateside on Turner Broadcasting System's TBS channel at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th, bringing a new family favorite to TBS's diverse line-up of Christmas programming. The film will also be shown on Cartoon Network at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 3rd. Check your local listings for additional air dates and times.
"Turner is thrilled to announce that Elf Pets: Santa's St. Bernards Save Christmas will be joining its roster of classic holiday programming this year," said Michael Quigley, executive vice president – commercial operations, content strategy and monetization, TBS and TNT. "The Elf on the Shelf® brand is one that is beloved by families around the world and TBS is excited to be the U.S. television home of the Elf franchise!"
Twin sisters and co-CEOs Chanda and Christa and their mother Carol Aebersold have shared The Elf on the Shelf® and Elf Pets® stories with families around the world. Now, with the introduction of Scout Elf Productions™, the women are taking on new lead roles and aiming to make CCA and B the go-to source for family-friendly Christmas content. Scout Elf Productions™ is the latest channel through which they can foster memorable family moments and inspire kids' curiosity about the magical North Pole.
"The timing of the special seems almost kismet given all the turmoil in the world right now. The timeless message of generosity it explores speaks to kids through characters they love and opens the door for parents to experience these universal themes of benevolence with their families," Christa Pitts, executive producer of the film, noted.
In addition to its TBS and Cartoon Network airings, the Elf Pets: Santa's St. Bernards Save Christmas DVD is available for purchase at retailers nationwide, on The Elf on the Shelf® website for $9.95. The disc includes the 26:48 animated special, trailer, sing-along version and filmmaker's commentary. The special also debuted on the large screen to a private audience of media and influencers in the UK and is set to air on television in Canada later in the season.
