eSilicon and Precise-ITC Partner to Demonstrate 7nm ASIC IP and SerDes Capability

OTTAWA, Ontario & SAN JOSE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 27, 2019 — Networking Intellectual Property (IP) developer Precise-ITC and ASIC and IP provider eSilicon today announce a partnership to produce an integrated multi-rate, multi-channel 400G Ethernet test chip. eSilicon offers a platform of high-performance and high-bandwidth IP and 2.5D packaging solutions in 7nm technology that target networking and data center applications. The collaboration utilizes eSilicon’s 56G/112G SerDes combined with Precise-ITC’s full IEEE-compliant 400GE/ 200GE/ 100GE/ 50GE/ 25GE PCS, MAC and FlexE2.0 shim in a 7nm process.

The design provides a proof-of-concept vehicle for both companies. While Precise-ITC has delivered its IP in 7nm for several network integrators, this is the first time its IP is available in test silicon. Precise-ITC has a rich portfolio of OTN, Ethernet, AI-driven connectivity and 5G compatible IP Cores for ASIC and is an FPGA IP core partner with Intel and Xilinx.

eSilicon will demonstrate true long-reach capability for the most demanding system environments in next-generation 25 and 50 Tb/s switches. Developers can accelerate their time to market with a high-performance, flexible, easy-to-configure SerDes that targets all the common Ethernet, Fibre Channel and CPRI standards as well as proprietary rates common in data center and 5G wireless infrastructure applications.

“Feedback at ECOC in Rome and SC18 in Dallas last year as well as DesignCon in Santa Clara this year has been phenomenal,” said eSilicon senior director of IP marketing David Axelrad. “People who saw our SerDes demo at these events commented that it was the best performing, most robust and easiest to use SerDes on the market.”

“As network bandwidth demands continue unabated, most OEMs are partnering with ASIC companies to develop cost-effective solutions and eSilicon has established itself as a market leader,” said Murray Baldock, VP business development at Precise-ITC. “Precise-ITC is de facto leader in high-bandwidth Ethernet and OTN IP. This partnership gives eSilicon clients the best-in-class Ethernet solution to meet the needs of the market.”

Precise-ITC will be demonstrating its standards-compliant 400G Ethernet core with the Spirent tester at OFC2019 in booth #6208 and with Intel at the Ethernet Alliance Booth. eSilicon will be demonstrating its advanced SerDes technology and HBM2 PHY at OFC2019 in booth #5216.
