Today at the Open Compute Project Global Summit in San Jose, Rambus is demonstrating its collaboratively developed hybrid memory research platform with Alpha Data, IBM, Wistron, and Xilinx. The prototype system leverages memory on OpenCAPI, as a first step in creating a flexible platform to enable the research of new memory types in real-world environments. Targeting one of the industry’s key performance challenges, this collaboration aims to research and optimize the use of DRAM and emerging storage-class memories for real-world environments.
