Monica Cappiello is not only the Department Director for Digital Art and Animation, but she is also an Associate Professor. Monica has taught classes in modeling, texturing, lighting and other courses at Cogswell Polytechnical College. Monica brings over 8 years of experience to the table, having worked in multiple studios such as Red Giant, Mendez Foundation, Pixellex Studios, and PBS. Several works have been awarded at film festivals and she continues to create and release new projects every year right alongside students. This summer, SIGGRAPH 2020 will be taking place in Washington D.C., where Monica will be directing The VR Theater. The VR Theater is a sought-after showcase featuring innovative and inspiring virtual reality stories within a state-of-the-art theater environment. The experience is a one-hour compilation of the best of the best in short-form immersive narratives. The theater is a luxurious, state-of-the-art environment in a high-end, seated, panoramic, multi-viewer immersive space shown in single viewer kiosks.
