Sterling, VA, October 10, 2006 – Infotech Enterprises America, Inc., formerly known as VARGIS, LLC, has recently completed the City of Helena project within 120 days from award. In June of this year, Infotech was selected through a competitive bid process; by the City of Helena, Lewis & Clark County, MT for digital orthophotography and planimetric data services. A combined Geographic Information System (GIS) that partially includes AutoCAD drawings, ArcGIS databases, and Aerial Imagery is shared by both City of Helena and Lewis & Clark County. This project was done as part of the City and County joint project with a basic design tailored to long term operations and future developments.

Providing the most up-to-date base-map product to be used in the City’s GIS system was the overall objectives for this project. The system will be populated with highly accurate spatial data products and digital orthophotography to support their current planning and future development needs. The project encompassed the entire metropolitan area, which involved updates to all aerial imagery as well as updated continuous contours, building footprints, & transportation features where changes have not occurred since 2001. All updates will support the city and county governments.
