Founded in 1855, The Weitz Company is an Engineering News Record (ENR)-ranked general contractor, design-builder and construction manager based in Des Moines, Iowa. The Weitz Company has been honored for its use of Prolog® software to control costs, reduce risk, and increase profit. With Prolog, Weitz was able to achieve real-time status reports and improve visibility beyond previous solutions, enabling them to keep costs in sync with the revenues of the project.

"We congratulate all of this year's Vision Awards winners, especially the Weitz Company for this honorable recognition," said Sue Watkins, Director of Marketing at Meridian Systems. "Weitz has been a leader in utilizing technology to support its mission critical processes, including seamless collaboration and improved visibility into their business performance."

Mitigating risk, improving business processes and managing one central database were key factors in Weitz' decision to integrate their existing technology systems. Functionality from Prolog Manager, JD Edwards ERP software, and their in-house sales force and office automation software were combined using Data Builder's e-PCS solution.

In addition to this seamless integration, Weitz partnered with Data Builder to architect a nightly integration that automatically files Daily Reports and Project Directory information from the Weitz project management system, Prolog Manager 7.5 software. Finally, project teams utilize Folder Sync capabilities for immediate integration for such items as Request for Information (RFI), Change Log Item (CLI), and Subcontractor Folder synchronization.
