Landscape Architects Announce 2009 Call for Presentations at Annual Meeting

Washington, D.C., — January 21, 2009 — Today, the American Society of Landscape Architects ( ASLA ) announced the call for presentations for the 2009 Annual Meeting and EXPO. The deadline for education session proposals is February 20, and the submission form is available online.

The 2009 event will take place in Chicago , September 18-21, with the theme Beyond Sustainability: Regenerating Places and People. It promises to be the largest gathering of landscape architecture professionals in the world and will feature a diverse spectrum of industry experts speaking on sustainability and design. Past keynotes include former Vice President Al Gore, Hon. ASLA ; Jean-Michel Cousteau; Charlie Cook; James Carville; and many others.

The 2008 Annual Meeting and EXPO in Philadelphia featured more than 400 exhibits as well as 120 tours, education sessions, and seminars for the 5,300 registered attendees – the second largest attendance ever. For more information, visit www.asla.org.
