City of Elizabethton and Carter County Planning and Zoning to Implement GIS Using SDImaps Software.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 19, 2009 - The City of Elizabethton's Electrical System, Water Department, Public Works Department, City Management, County Planning / Zoning and Watauga Regional Water Authority located in Carter County a part of Northeastern Tennessee, selected Spatial Data Integrations, Inc. (SDI) and MapSync to provide software and services for a geographic information system (GIS) that will dramatically change the daily management of its infrastructure information. For data management, each entity will use SDImaps™, SDI's utility mapping extension to ESRI's ArcView® software. For internal and mobile viewing, they will use MapSync's GeoSyncXG® software. SDI will also provide training to facilitate implementation and ongoing technical support.

SDImaps is specifically designed for the utility industry and is intended to give the power of GIS to users with all levels of computer experience. The software enables users to more efficiently manage infrastructure assets and create an accurate up-to-date system map without having to know GIS theory or database design/administration. SDImaps is an extension of ArcGIS software, a product of GIS industry leader, ESRI.

GeoSyncXG desktop software and XG Publisher tools make it easy for GIS users to create targeted interactive maps for desktop or mobile viewing. XG desktop software offers a friendly and easy to use interface for searching, viewing and printing of published interactive maps.
