Autodesk Launches the Autodesk Inventor Certified Hardware Program to Help Customers Optimize 3D Mechanical Design System Performance

Autodesk, Inc., the world's leading design and digital content creation company, today announced the Autodesk Inventor Certified Hardware Program. The new Autodesk program certifies that selected hardware meets standards set by Autodesk to insure robustness, quality, and the highest level of interoperability with the company’s award-winning Autodesk Inventor 3D mechanical design system. Customers who purchase certified products benefit from increased reliability and improved resource planning through knowing which hardware devices work best with Autodesk Inventor software. When combined with the Autodesk Inventor Certified Application Program, the new hardware program helps deliver the highest quality products across the entire manufacturing process.

Participation in the program is limited to the leading video card and human device interface (i.e., keyboards, 3D motion devices, mice, etc.) vendors. Companies with products that have already met Autodesk’s stringent standards include 3Dconnexion, Inc., Matrox Graphics, Inc., NEC Corporation, NVIDIA Corporation, and PNY Technologies, Inc. Customers who purchase these products benefit from increased reliability and improved resource planning through knowing which hardware devices work best with Autodesk Inventor software.

“Autodesk is committed to working with best-in-class hardware vendors, and we’re proud of the high standards these companies have met in gaining certification,” said Barrett Kamille, partner applications manager, Autodesk Manufacturing Solutions Division. “The new certified hardware program will help our customers optimize the effectiveness of their Autodesk Inventor software and to more efficiently complete their design and manufacturing processes.”

Hardware vendors interested in participating in the program must supply several units of their product hardware to internal Autodesk Quality Assurance staff for testing and validation. If these products are found to meet specific technical and benchmark requirements, they will be officially certified. Under this program, products are certified to work with the latest version of Autodesk Inventor software.
