Contex Offers Free Workshops at Autodesk University on "How to Scan Drawings for Use With CAD and BIM"

Wide Format Scanning Solutions to be Shown at Contex Booth #1515; Production Scanning Coupled with HP Designjet T7100 Printer Demonstrated at HP Booth #115
Herndon, VA--November 17, 2010--Contex, the world's leading developer of wide format scanning and imaging solutions, today announces free workshops that will show CAD and BIM users how to leverage their hard copy drawings with Autodesk products. The workshops will be held daily at Contex booth #1515 at Autodesk University conference in Las Vegas, November 30 - December 2. The workshops will show how users can mark up, scan, and share hard-copy drawings with other Autodesk users. These sessions will also highlight how to scan a document directly into an online plan room or into the Autodesk environment as lines, arcs, circles, and text. The workshops will help Autodesk users to improve productivity, avoid unnecessary interruptions, and save valuable time. Because space is limited, prospective participants should register in advance at www.contex.com/AU2010 or contact Contex at 877-226-6839.

At the Contex booth #1515, the company will showcase its line of wide format scanners--several of which are eligible for special pricing until December 31, 2010, as part of Contex's year-end sale. The booth will feature demonstrations of wide format scanning solutions for Autodesk users in manufacturing, civil, mechanical, architecture, building, and construction. Contex will also demonstrate WiseImage Pro, a valuable add-on for any CAD user that needs to modify or convert scanned images into intelligent usable CAD and BIM drawings.

"WiseImage is a real time saver. I manage multiple drawings in many formats and WiseImage allows me to easily digitize paper drawings for use in AutoCAD. It's an excellent drafting resource," comments Rhett Fulwider, Plant Engineering Superintendent of Evraz Oregon Steel.

At the HP booth #115, Contex will demonstrate its HD4250MFP coupled with the new HP Designjet T7100 Printer. This new device eases and accelerates print production for customers by offering speeds of up to 165 A1 prints per hour and unattended printing. When paired with the Contex HD4250MFP, the combination creates a production-oriented reprographic system that scans and prints both color and black-and-white drawings--at speeds that rival LED systems--delivering high-quality images and a lower cost per copy.

"The Autodesk University Conference provides an excellent opportunity to show users new techniques that will enhance their wide format imaging skills," states Steve Blanken, Sales Director for Contex Americas. "The timing of the conference and our year-end sale makes it a great opportunity to invest in a wide format scanning solution."
