Autodesk Showcases Software on Creative Social Marketplace FilterFoundry.com

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 05, 2011 -- Filter Foundry has announced that Autodesk, Inc. is now showcasing Autodesk Mudbox and Autodesk SketchBook Pro software on FilterFoundry.com, an emerging social marketplace for creative professionals. Through Filter Foundry's innovative "sponsor engagement" model, Autodesk has created a "Pad" for each product, where visitors to the website can preview and learn about the products in an educational and collaborative environment. Filter Foundry members and subscribers can also attend " studio sessions" for both Mudbox and SketchBook Pro on the site.

The Autodesk Mudbox studio session is a 10-part series for beginners offered by Autodesk Mudbox Master Wayne Robson. The Autodesk SketchBook Pro studio session is offered by Mark Kokavec and provides in depth knowledge of how to illustrate and concept sketch with the software. Artists can also visit the Autodesk Mudbox pad at www.filterfoundry.com/Mudbox and the Autodesk SketchBook Pro pad at www.filterfoundry.com/SketchbookPro.

"Traditional Internet display advertising simply doesn't work anymore, with response rates in the fractions of one-percent," says Filter Foundry CEO Patrick Bradley. "Our offering for marketers takes on a radical approach: give potential customers something of real value targeted to their needs. On our dynamic social platform, users can not only appreciate original content produced with Autodesk software, they can download generous free trials of those programs and also enroll in professional tutorials on how to use these products."

Filter Foundry, which has been called the Facebook-meets-LinkedIn for designers, is a robust social and business marketplace for professionals in diverse creative fields -- from advertising to 3D animation and the fine arts. In a customizable, single venue, the website allows subscribers to: showcase their portfolios, market skills, learn new techniques, get paid work, hire other professionals, and purchase career-related digital products. The service is free to join, but offers premium paid subscriptions and many transactional features.

"Filter Foundry came to Autodesk with an engagement proposition unlike anything we've seen in the marketplace," says Maurice Patel, senior manager of Media & Entertainment industry marketing at Autodesk. "We are happy to be a part of this innovative creative platform, which offers great value to our current and future customers by facilitating social connection."

With an estimated 60 million professionals worldwide, the creative field is considered among the most Internet-savvy market segments.
