Reducing fuel consumption strongly impacts NVH behavior. Weight reduction programs can affect transfer paths, potentially causing driveline-induced booming issues. Substituting the ICE for an electric motor fundamentally changes the interior sound quality, bringing out high frequency tonality and sharpness issues. Furthermore, new pass-by noise regulations such as ECE-R51.03 will come into force in 2013 or 2014.
