Description: Simpleware have brought traditional techniques of physics-based modelling together with advanced scanning technologies to develop ScanIP, a package that can use a scan of an object to create a layered computer model. The software allows companies to simplify and reduce the cost of product testing by replacing physical trials with early virtual tests. Professor Philippe Young describes the development of the product.
Simpleware Ltd has received an IOP Innovation Award 2013 from the Institute of Physics for commercialising the software package.
