UTC Aerospace Systems Recognized as Gold Supplier by the Defense Logistics Agency

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 22, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  UTC Aerospace Systems has been recognized as a Gold Tier supplier for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) as part of the Department of Defense's Superior Supplier Incentive Program (SSIP). The Gold Tier includes the DLA's highest performing suppliers for 2013-2014 measured in areas such as cost, schedule, performance, quality and business relations. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The DLA evaluated 153 of its suppliers as part of the SSIP. Forty suppliers were selected as superior suppliers, of which only 15 were identified in the highest tier as Gold suppliers. Suppliers were selected based on the following criteria: performance against current contracts with the DLA; ratings in the federal Contractor's Performance Reporting System (CPARS); and established partnerships with the DLA that focus on cost-saving initiatives.

"UTC Aerospace Systems is laser-focused on meeting our customers' requirements, so we are delighted that the Defense Logistics Agency sees us as a supplier performing at the highest levels," said Raffaele Virgili, vice president, UTC Aerospace Systems Customer Service. "We have put a tremendous amount of effort into building our relationship with the DLA, including dedicated, on-site support and delivering on our cost, quality and performance commitments. This recognition acknowledges those efforts and the great work and commitment of our employees."

UTC Aerospace Systems currently has spare parts contracts with the DLA that span all UTC Aerospace Systems' segments, including actuation and propeller systems, nacelle systems, air management systems, electric systems, ejection seats, sensing systems, landing  gear, engine systems, sensor systems, and wheels and brakes.
