Canon Introduces the Océ PlotWave 450 print system designed to boost efficiency and safeguard data for document handling

New wide format technology to deliver reliable and productive performance

MELVILLE, N.Y., May 17, 2016 — (PRNewswire) — Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the launch of the new Océ PlotWave 450 large format monochrome printing system. Canon's newest wide format device was developed to meet the needs of larger workgroups and copy shops looking to efficiently handle bigger sets of technical documents during routine and peak periods. Based on award-winning Océ Radiant Fusing technology, the print system saves costly man hours and energy costs with instant printing performance.

"This print engine is the answer for technical document users looking to keep printed or scanned information as secure as possible," said Toyo Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc.  "We understand the concerns associated with sensitive information; the Océ PlotWave 450 was designed to address those concerns and provide a reliable, productive, and efficient solution."

Self-sufficient model
The system is made with busy professionals in mind. The Océ ClearConnect touch screen works like a tablet so there is zero learning curve. A powerful lineup of features makes it easy to handle complex documents. Users can create, print and manage sets of documents in an intuitive way with Océ Publisher Express 2 Windows-based job submission software. The What You See is What You Print preview highlights potential errors before printing and makes it easy to change the settings for the right results.

Making things easier for you
Adding to the ease-of-use, plots are neatly collated and stacked on the Top Delivery Tray at an ergonomic height so users do not have to wait around for prints. The Océ Delivery Tray stacks up to 150 sheets, up to 42 inches wide, ready for pick-up. Another practical time saver is the fully integrated Océ online folder option, which generates quality folded documents automatically.

Like the entire Océ PlotWave family, the Océ PlotWave 450 system is engineered to make technical documents look their best. They feature the next evolution in Océ print quality to provide outstanding black and white prints with sharper details, accurate curves, smoother grayscales and more readable texts. Waterfast print technology stands up to intensive use on and off-site. In addition, Océ Image Logic® makes it easy to get superb copying and scanning results by compensating for wrinkles and paper folds on the originals and by reinforcing colors.

Safeguards the printing environment
Keeping intellectual property and business assets secure is an ongoing challenge in the business world. The new Océ PlotWave 450 system offers new features to make the printing environment more secure. They provide secure login or smart card support to prevent prints from remaining on the printer where unauthorized people could take them. Confidential information is further protected with a Windows 8 embedded platform and the Océ POWERsync controller which supports the latest security features.

Designed to work side-by-side with people, the Océ PlotWave 450 system is a people-friendly and planet-friendly choice. Océ Radiant Fusing technology produces virtually no ozone emissions, lower levels of noise and lower levels of heat compared to conventional systems. That makes them ideal for workgroups where people can work beside them in comfort. The closed toner system also prevents unhealthy toner fumes from being released into the air.

Next-generation productivity
The instant performance of the Océ PlotWave 450 printing system saves costly man hours and energy costs by going from sleep mode to print in hand in less than 30 seconds. Users can save more time by printing from a folder on their home computer or scanning documents to it with the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) integration. They can also print files via a smart phone or computer or send a print request to their printer via Océ Publisher Mobile. The Océ PlotWave 450 system prints at 8 D-size prints per minute on up to four media rolls. Printing complex technical documents is efficient thanks to the powerful Océ POWERsync controller. Users can scan while printing and copy while printing to save even more time.

Availability
The new Océ PlotWave System is now available and will be sold through Canon Solutions America and its authorized dealers.
