Space Imaging Awarded $5.88 Million Contract from Pentagon's National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

DENVER, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Space Imaging has been awarded a $5.88 million satellite imagery capacity contract from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This ClearView mid-year supplemental contract enables the NGA to acquire additional commercial imagery from Space Imaging's IKONOS satellite -- the world's first commercial high-resolution Earth imaging satellite.

Map accurate, high-resolution imagery from IKONOS is used to develop up-to-date maps for military users, support intelligence activities, military planning and operations, damage assessments, public diplomacy and humanitarian assistance.

In January 2003 Space Imaging was awarded the largest ClearView contract of the three major U.S. commercial high-resolution satellite companies. The first three years of the five-year contract period had a minimum value to Space Imaging of $120 million.
